Hanzijo is a free iOS app for learning Chinese (Mandarin) from HSK 1 to HSK 9. It unifies hanzi, pinyin, tones, vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening into one spaced-repetition path, with exclusive mnemonics, native audio, OCR scanning, tone training and HSK mock tests.
Why we built Hanzijo
Most people who start learning Chinese quit at the same wall: they can recognize a few hundred characters but can’t remember them, can’t hear the tones, and can’t read a real sentence. The problem usually isn’t effort — it’s that the tools are scattered. One app for flashcards, another for grammar, a podcast for listening, a notebook for tones. Nothing connects, so nothing sticks.
Hanzijo was built to fix that. Everything a learner needs lives in one place, scheduled by one spaced-repetition engine, so every review reinforces everything else. The design is deliberately calm — no lives, no punishing streaks — because durable learning comes from consistency, not anxiety.
